Thanks to the generous people at Jolly Learning, the pupils of Bayerebon school have been improving their English with Jolly Phonics. Karen Bridges, a UK teacher who has spent more than a year living in the village and working at the school has already seen a major improvement in the children's progress. English is the administrative language of Ghana but its not the children's first language. While our Twi language is important to our culture, it is critical that our children learn English if they are to become successful adults in Ghana. Phonics is making a big difference to the chances our children will have in life. |
